Do to-do lists work for you?

Growing up, I never saw the importance of to-do lists as I though my brain was still in its most active stage and I could make do with mental to-do lists. To be honest, that worked for a little bit and then my next love-hate relationship with to-do lists blossomed.

You know that feeling where you don't want to check your bank account because you know that you have definitely overspent and its so much easier to stay in denial? That's the sort of relationship I had with to-do lists. I never did them because I just didn't want to know that I had stuff that needed to be done.

I'm happy to announce that that relationship is over. Planning is key! It makes you accountable. I find that I am more I am generally more productive now that I write out my to-do list at the beginning of a week and break it down into what needs to be achieved each day.

There's an exhilarating feeling that comes with knowing that you haven't been 'faffing' and can actually account for your time along with seeing results, no matter how little. Its a sense of achievement even in the little things; keeping yourself constantly motivated knowing every activity is a step in the right direction and ultimately making your dreams a reality.

They say it takes 30 days to break a habit; one of the steps I'm taking in tackling procrastination and being more disciplined, is being accountable through to-do lists.I cant ignore it when its written out and with an unchecked box right in front of it. I have a bit of OCB (Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour) so that would do the trick nicely!

What steps are you taking?
