'You sound like you don't know exactly what you want to do next'...

It's okay to not have it all figured out.

I have been at both ends of the spectrum, where at the end of a conversation people say to me; "I wish I had this much clarity at your age"and then the other response after a few other conversations with other people.

Words carry a lot of weight and if we aren't careful, we will find that we end up believing the things people say to us while we are in weird head spaces. I tend to replay conversations in my head and its so easy to get stuck in that place where I feel like if people are saying this, it must be true.

Not entirely!!!

While going after the things you want, there will be moments of clarity and direction and other ones where you just don't know. I think with all the pressure of getting things done and being your best, we think its not okay to be confused about the next step.

A lot of the time, life happens and sometimes, in ways that royally mess up whatever plans we have, creating confusion. I have found myself at this stage just being confused and thinking its not okay to be confused. This usually results in putting an enormous amount of pressure on myself, leading into me digging a deep hole of self-pity and ultimately crippling myself.

The idea of having it all figured out is a myth. I don't think anyone ever does and honestly, that's okay. It doesn't make you less of a person or less ambitious or less of anything. What you do next is what's important.... Fall down 7 times, get up 8 times...

Re-plan...reroute...make adjustments.

Keep moving! Never stay stagnant. Gather your thoughts! Confusion isn't necessarily the end of a road; it could in fact, be a redirection to possibilities you never saw in the first place.

I'm learning that its okay to be confused sometimes. Sometimes the grace we have is for enough light just for the next step...sometimes we may have to step out in faith, even though this may feel similar to swinging a bat blindly and struggling to hit something.

In this journey to being fearless, I'm embracing my moments of utmost clarity and those of confusion. I'm learning that its all part of the process....

And, its okay!

I recently came across a post on Instagram that talked about how the different letters in the word 'ATTITUDE' add up to 100 if you take their numerical value based on number in the list of alphabets. So the numerical value of A is 1 because its the 1st letter of the alphabet, T= 20, U=21, D=4 and E=5, all which add up to 100 if you do the math.

It really got me thinking and here's what I realised. Your attitude is EVERYTHING. Your attitude influences your perception, which influences your mood, which influences your output most of the time, which then goes to influence how you feel about your life generally.

My attitude about so many things has stank worse than the smell associated with a skunk. To the point that its held me back from seeing the good in a lot of things and has led me to missing out on opportunities.

Last week, something happened in my personal life that shook me because it left me with a whole lot of questions. My attitude typically when things I don't expect or plan for happens to me is on of sulking and feeling bad for myself. But this time, I said NO! I gave myself a few days to process and to be honest, I am still processing but honestly there's just no point in having a bad attitude.

This also applies to when we are in a process; that lack of contentment of not being where you want or think you should be. The right attitude would be absorbing all that you can and trusting the process. It's easier said than done, but its doable.

Going forward, the right attitude for me is seeing everything as an experience. I got this from a friend of mine's story on instagram. If you approach life and all the things that happen to you as an opportunity to learn, that is the best attitude. You may be disappointed, frustrated or even let down, but you're growing.

That gives you strength and its honestly very vital in the journey to fearless because you see possibilities. Its that glass half full mentality; it makes ALL the difference... That's what I am working on right now

My two cents...

I am starting to believe a lot in the power of thinking outside of the box. It’s such a strong concept that applies to every area of our lives. When you think outside the box, there is literally a solution to every problem; might not necessarily be the entire solution but it would at least be a part of it. This also prevents you from making silly excuses especially when money is involved.

I’ll give you an example, I had planned to buy a sewing machine at the start of the year, but things always seemed to come up and I had to divert the money into different things. Now in thinking outside the box, I found a solution that’s actually been staring me right in the face the whole time.

The point I am trying to pass across basically is that if you let it, thinking one way will help you stay stagnant, you will make excuses ALL the time!! But if you tackle a problem from different angles, being open to the fact that there are multiple solutions to different problems.

Just thought to drop that real quick before it escaped me…

Let me know what you’re trying to solve and how thinking outside the box helps, if it does….
